Over 300 signatories from 64 countries demand debt cancellation for developing countries, as IMF and World Bank meetings take place in Washington

Over 300 signatories from 64 countries are demanding immediate action on debt cancellation, as the global health, food, energy,  and climate crises continue to exacerbate an already desperate debt emergency.

Desperate, debt-dependent countries are forced to access loans pushed by private lenders, but this time, at higher interest rates.

As part of the Global Days of Action for Justice and Debt Cancellation , we take to the streets on October 28, in Asia-wide coordinated actions, to raise ever stronger voices in demanding unconditional debt cancellation. Free up public money for peoples’ rights and survival!

Simultaneous actions in the Philippines, Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh and India in front of country offices of the World Bank to highlight Asian peoples' calls and demands for World Bank to pull out of all fossil fuels, cancel illegitimate debts and pay its climate debt.

From Oct. 14 - 30, 2021, peoples' organizations and movements from various countries call attention to the need to free up public funds for peoples' survival. Widely supported demands to free up funds through debt cancellation have largely been ignored and met with flawed debt relief schemes. Stronger voices, stronger actions are more urgently needed!
